On Monday, Sep. 4, Fight Nights returned to the Ali Aliev Sports Palace in Kaspiysk, Dagestan, for Fight Nights Global 73: Aliev vs. Brandão.

In the night’s main event, UFC veteran Diego Brandão met Fight Nights mainstay Akhmet Aliev in a controversial outing. Brandão had won back-to-back fights since getting cut from the UFC. Aliev had earned victories over UFC veterans Efrain Escudero and Ivan Jorge.
