LFA 17 Results: Watley Cruises Past Moisés, Captures Lightweight Title

On Friday, July 21, Legacy Fighting Alliance hosted its 17th event from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, N.C.

In the night’s main event, the promotion crowned its inaugural lightweight champion as Brazil’s Thiago Moisés met Maryland’s Robert Watley. Moisés entered the contest having won four straight under the RFA banner. His lone career defeat came against current UFC fighter Jason Knight. Watley, meanwhile, rode a seven-fight winning streak. He had primarily competed for East Coast promotions Shogun Fights and CFFC over the course of his eight-fight career.

The event aired live at 9 p.m. ET on AXS TV. Above are video highlights of the main card (courtesy of AXS TV).
