Carlos Condit (Dave Mandel/Sherdog)

Rear-Naked Choke Radio: UFC on Fox 21, Nate Diaz’s Options, Anthony Pettis at Featherweight

It was a lengthy one, and the topics went far and beyond MMA, but Rear-Naked Choke Radio is back from vacation.

So much has happened sinceĀ  Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) were last on the mics, but they got right back into it by talking UFC 202, UFC on Fox 21’s main event between Carlos Condit and Demian Maia, some WWE, and whatever else popped up in the hang, including battle rap.

Rizzo and Kelly talked about Condit’s decision to fight Maia, after stating he’d only fight for a title. The hosts also talked about Anthony Pettis’ drop to featherweight, what a win over Charles Oliveira will do for him and where he still ranks in the lightweight division.

Speaking of fighters demanding a specific fight or no fight, Nate Diaz said he wants a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor, after losing to the Irishman at UFC 202. Rizzo and Kelly discussed other fights Diaz would be foolish not to take, as well as the upside to battling McGregor again immediately.

Along with the talk about CM Punk’s UFC debut, the hosts talked about other MMA-related pro wrestling news. Brock Lesnar, who defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200, took his MMA skills back to WWE and dropped elbows on Randy Orton’s head, resulting in gash that needed 10 staples to close. Rizzo and Kelly talked about the scripted WWE’s storyline and the incident that took place with Lesnar and Orton.

While hanging and chatting about MMA, Rizzo and Kelly went off the rails and discussed politics, King of the Dot battle rap, Dancing with the Stars, MMA Reddit and other chats. Some might call it nonsense, some might call it gold. You’ll have to listen to find out.
